About Kaylee

    Kaylee Feigenspan began studying piano at the age of seven in Kalona, Iowa. During high school, she was a piano student of Susan See.  While studying with Mrs. See, Kaylee was selected by competitive audition to receive the Truman State University Piano Fellowship, a four-year full tuition award that was first started in 1984 by President Emeritus, Dr. Charles McClain.  At Truman, she studied under the direction of Dr. David McKamie and was the recipient of numerous awards. In the fall of 2016, she was selected as one of three winners for the Truman State Gold Medal Concerto competition, and had the opportunity to perform with the Truman State University Symphony Orchestra in the spring of 2017. Kaylee was also selected as the recipient of the Presser Scholar award in the spring of her Junior year. During her senior year, Kaylee recieved the MFMC Blaser Piano Rotating Award and was selected as the Outstanding Performance Major of 2018. In May of 2018, Kaylee graduated from Truman State University with top honors.

   After graduation, Kaylee returned home and married her best friend, Ty, before opening a piano studio in her home. In the spring of 2019, she was offered a position to be the resident piano instructor at Hillcrest Academy (formerly known as IMS). This fall, Kaylee is excited to continue building her home studio as well as her studio at Hillcrest Academy.
